Sarah designed a beautiful, functional, modern kitchen, as well as two new bathrooms and a laundry room that seamlessly fit the style of our 100-year old southern home. We originally hired an architect, but found that Sarah's designs were better than anything he suggested. Dealing with contractors and choosing appliances and fixtures is always a daunting task, but Sarah worked from the beginning to give us options that we loved and were within our budget. Because she was so organized and efficient, all of this work was done early in the process so that we never had to delay construction to figure out what needed to be there that day to be installed. While planning for the project, Sarah guided us through the different expectations we had for the space (homework areas, cooking areas, social areas). We envisioned space to cook elaborate meals, host parties, as well as spaces for our family to play games, do homework, read a book, or have a glass of wine with friends. We have absolutely LOVED the finished product. It is beautiful and functional and exceeded our expectations. Sarah was amazing!

SERVICES

The clients envisioned a large, open plan that would accommodate frequent entertaining, but would still feel comfortable and intimate for every day family living. The task was to completely change the layout of the existing kitchen, laundry room, powder room and expand the sunroom to create a larger working kitchen and better circulation throughout the space and into the back yard. The clients envisioned a space large and open enough to cook elaborate meals and entertain guests, but also feel comfortable and intimate eating as a family, playing games, doing homework, reading a book, or having a glass of wine with friends.

To furnish the greatly improved space plan downstairs, we incorporated reclaimed heart pine floors, hand painted terra cotta wall tile, fully custom cabinetry in fresh white enamel and light mahogany stain, Carrera marble countertops, slate floor tile and a repurposed antique dresser for the powder room vanity to blend with the rich character of home and district. Upstairs, we fully renovated the large hall bathroom to better function for family and guests. We reused the art deco bathtub and designed a fresh subway tile shower and marble hex floor to compliment the time period. We layered a warm cherry vanity and crystal faucet to refer to finishes and hardware throughout the home.
